The specialty international commercial insurance packages provide for the different high risks such as war & terrorism, kidnap & ransom, Directors and Officers liability, Evacuation & Repatriation and Defense Base Act (DBA) Insurance.
The organizations best suited include multinational corporations, international schools, security consultants, government contractors, non-government organizations and relief and development organizations operating outside their home countries.
The international commercial specialty insurance can be extended to a number of expatriate insurance policies such as Motor fleet insurance, Group Medical, Personal Accident and defense base act insurance (Defense base act requires insurance as per FAR 52.228-3 for all federally funded public works contracts overseas (OCONUS). The insurance provides for contractually required protection for the contractor’s civilian employees for medical expenses, lost wages, disability, and or death, including War Hazard, arising from work related injury or occupational illness).
